The women are focused on their weight loss journey to become eligible for bariatric surgery.
While Amy Slaton was able to lose the weight needed for the procedure early on, Tammy was not. Did Tammy finally get the weight loss surgery?
1000-lb Sisters: Did Tammy Slaton Get Weight Loss Surgery?
In season 3 of 1000-lb Sisters, Tammy Slaton ran into some obstacles on her journey to qualify for bariatric surgery. She started drinking and partying with friends who only encouraged her habits that contributed to her poor health.
By the end of the third season, Tammy Slaton was determined to get help from an inpatient weight loss facility. Previously, she had left the program early so she could continue her progress at home. As viewers know, that wasn’t quite the case. But her determination at the end of Season 3 of 1000-lb Sisters may have been real.
The Sun reported that Tammy is still in rehab following a successful gastric bypass operation at the end of summer 2022.
Amy herself hasn’t spoken publicly about the bariatric procedure – but that may be due to her contract with TLC, which stipulates that certain details can’t be shared before the show airs.
