1000-Lb Sisters: The Slaton’s Mother

Amy and Tammy Slaton’s mother Darlene Slaton hasn’t always had the best relationship with her children. The sisters have told fans that their mother hasn’t been around for most of their lives and their relationship with her has been tumultuous.

Since their mother was not there for them, the sisters had to support and take care of themselves. They ended up eating terrible food and ended up spending most of their time at their grandmother’s house.

Darlene knew they were in good hands with Grandma, and she decided to take on a variety of jobs. When their grandmother died, they were so depressed and started overeating to cope with her loss. Both women also shared that they suffer from depression and that this has also contributed to overeating. Tammy became so depressed in 2019 that she tried to kill herself.
