While her estranged husband Jay Smith tries to stay in the US, 90 Day Fiance star Ashley Martson has her own legal drama. The reality TV star is faced with two charges related to throwing a fire extinguisher through Smith’s window. Martson admitted this during an Instagram Live session.
During a January 19 confrontation, Martson threw a fire extinguisher through Smith’s window. She admitted this in an Instagram Q&A session with 90 Day Fiance blogger John Yates in June.
“I just want to free some air. Yes, I threw a fire extinguisher through his windshield. Let me explain why, “said Martson.” Only because it was set up that way. “
Martson claimed that Smith had brought her son’s Playstation when he moved, but they made a plan for her to pick it up. She received an SMS with her that she could. When she arrived, Smith refused to let her take it.
“So yes, I certainly took the fire extinguisher off the wall and smashed his windshield,” she said.
On June 19, Martson was accused of simple mistreatment and criminal disaster, according to court reports from Cumberland County.
On July 25, AfterBuzz TV spoke to West Shore’s regional police chief, who said that Martson had been charged this week. Martson also wanted to sue Smith for the incident, but he hasn’t been yet.
If convicted of the criminal charge, Ashley Martson should pay fines and a refund. The attack is subject to a heavier penalty, including a possible fine of $ 5,000 and a maximum of two years in prison.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for August 28.
Martson applied for a second divorce from Smith in April, but Martson claims that Smith refused to sign the paperwork.
During the first half of last week’s 90 Day Fiance: happily ever after? tell me everything, Martson said she should have divorced him earlier and wondered if Smith ever really loved her. Ashley Martson said she really loved him, but understood that she deserved better. Smith said he loved her, but defended another woman’s texting by accusing Ashley Martson of texting an ex-boyfriend.
Earlier this month, Ashley Martson seemed to hint that she had finished the 90 Day Fiance franchise for good with a long Instagram message.
“While the show is approaching the final episode, I wanted to take the time to say that I appreciate all the support and love of the fans. I got a chance that many want and am grateful for that,” she wrote. “I had the chance to let the world take a look at my life and although it didn’t end up how someone wanted or expected, it’s not something I regret or take back!”
Smith may not be confronted before the January 19 incident, but he’s in trouble. He is reportedly in danger of being deported back to Jamaica.
