90 Day Fiance fans are wondering what the point of watching Corey Rathgeber and Evelin Villegas’s marriage planning on The Other Way is if the couple are already married. Corey and Evelin appear to have already tied the knot, based on a document that lists Evelin’s marital status in Ecuador. Now, with Corey shocked by a hefty wedding bill, fans are left to wonder if there’s really a reason to bother tuning in.
90 Day Fiance has spent quite a bit of time focusing on preparing for Corey Rathgeber and Evelin Villegas’s wedding. The latest drama includes Corey Rathgeber spending time with a Peruvian woman, Jenny, after Evelin Villegas tried to scare him off by taking a break.
Now, with Corey having told Evelin about Jenny, but still hiding something, the two set about planning their wedding. But given the documents reported by Soap Dirt in 2019, some fans are left wondering what the deal is. Corey Rathgeber was arrested for a DUI in November 2019, and his police report made the rounds. At the same time, Evelin Villegas’ marriage status in Ecuador was revealed by a government document.
Evelin Villegas’ name was listed next to a “spouse” section, which includes Corey Rathgeber’s name. His marital status is outlined as “married.” If that’s the case, then Corey and Evelin have been married for a while, and the whole storyline that TLC is putting together is just for show – which might not come as a big surprise to some 90 Day Fiance fans.
90 Day Fiance: Evelin Villegas Hires An Expensive Wedding Planner
Despite their marital status, 90 Day Fiance continues with Corey Rathgeber and Evelin Villegas’s storyline, introducing the wedding planner that Evelin Villegas has hired to help put together their ceremony.
Evelin doesn’t want to spare any expense and as a result has hired someone whose lowest price is $26,000, going up to $50,000 for the most luxurious options. Corey Rathgeber was shocked when he heard the figures. “My brother had a wedding in the United States. It cost him $5,000 okay? Don’t tell me that we’re gonna spend $50,000 to $60,000 on a wedding in a third-world country. … I’m kind of freaking out right now because I just don’t know how I’m gonna pay for this wedding,” Corey told producers.
