90 day fiance Jorge Nava is not the man he used to be.
Nava, who is currently serving two and a half years in prison for drugs, tells E! News in an exclusive interview that his physical transformation represents so much more than a number on the scale.
Fans of the TLC reality TV series were recently shocked when they discovered Jorge’s leaner appearance in a new mug shot, which he attributes to a renewed focus on creating a better future for himself and his wife Anfisa.
Nava says he has lost no less than 125 pounds since he entered an Arizona State Prison Complex in Phoenix last September. “I’m happy that people notice some positivity from such a negative outcome,” he shares in the interview, which was coordinated by lawyer Brad Rideout. “Hopefully people can see that I can turn things around even though I’m at the lowest point in my life.”
According to Jorge, he and a fellow prisoner train together every day – once at 4 o’clock and again in the afternoon. “We motivate each other and push ourselves to the limit,” the reality TV personality explains, adding that he focuses primarily on “military” training and “lots of jogging.”
Regarding meals, Jorge Nava consumes a lot of oatmeal and peanut butter. And because of his environment, he is forced to cut away fast food, energy drinks and soft drinks. “I really had a bad diet when I was in the free world,” he notes.
“I wanted to be in the best physical and healthiest form possible,” Jorge also shares. “I feel healthy and energetic. I generally feel more confident.”
Jorge Nava says he is just as focused on his marriage to Anfisa as his fitness and diet regime. The star confirmed that despite split rumors, he and his 90 Day Fiancé cast are doing “very well” and looking forward to their upcoming reunion.
“My hope is to get out of it and start life again with a different point of view,” he explains. “I don’t want to make the same mistake I have already made. I have learned from all negativity. Hopefully I can make something positive out of it and make a bigger change.”
In early 2018, Nava was caught with nearly 300 kilos of marijuana in his vehicle and charged with possession of drugs with the intention of selling. His loved ones, including his lawyer, did not give up Jorge Nava because of the ups and downs.
“Going to jail is not easy and it is a place that is turning many people into harm,” Brad tells E! News. “I find Mr. Nava’s attitude and drive to change both mentally and physically inspiring.”
