Actress Garcelle Beauvais is one of two new additions to “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” and starts about the transition from scripted to reality TV.
“I was just on a journey of photographing a script show,” the actress, 52, told Bravo. “I received a phone call, and they were like:” You are a housewife! “I was like:” Shut up! “I screamed at the airport.”
Beauvais further said that, despite having never done reality TV, she is no problem being her authentic self for the “RHOBH” cameras.
“Scripted world, you show up, you know your lines, you are a character, you can hide a little who you are, this other person. Housewives? I’ll stand up like me. “
The “Flight” actress called her experience “interesting” so far, and added, “I shot my ex with me, my children. At the moment, everyone is cool, everyone is chill, everyone is hospitable, but I know that things can change, a drama can come to us and I am ready. “
Beauvais spoke earlier about the first black woman to join the franchise and told The Daily Dish: “As the first African-American housewife in the Beverly Hills franchise, I am honored and humiliated by this great opportunity to illustrate the fact that Black Girl Magic lives and thrives in every zip code! “
