Blake Shelton Jokes It's 'Unacceptable' that Nick Jonas Is Replacing Gwen Stefani on 'The Voice'

Blake Shelton has some thoughts about the coming 18th season of The Voice!

ET overtook the country star on Wednesday at the CMA Awards 2019 in Nashville, Tennessee, where he responded to the news that Nick Jonas will replace his girlfriend, Gwen Stefani, as a coach after the current season of the show at NBC.

“He’s going down!” Shelton joked, attending the award ceremony with Stefani, and won Single of the Year for “God’s Country,” which he performed on stage. “He replaced my girlfriend and that is unacceptable.”

“We’re going to arrange this on stage, coach for coach,” he added. “He’s going down.”

Later in the interview, Shelton also had jokes when ET asked him about fellow Voice coach John Legend who was named People’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2019.

“I’m the one who told the news on The Voice as a former sexy man,” Shelton replied, who previously had the title in 2017. “I told him afterwards, I said,” Hey man, listen. After this announcement appears, wait about two weeks before watching social media. Because everyone you ever hated has anything to say about it. “

And Shelton is certainly not wrong! A few moments after he announced Legend’s accolade during the live episode of The Voice Tuesday, the outspoken woman of the “All of Me” singer, Chrissy Teigen, went to Twitter to anticipate the recoil she knew her family would receive social media trolls.

“I can’t WAIT until people get angry because John is the sexiest man in the world,” she tweeted at the time. “It’s my new Starbucks vacation headline.”

“No, please don’t send it to me,” she continued. “I like to see these people naturally in the wild.”
