Why did Carole Radziwill leave her role at The Real Housewives in New York City?
Just under a year after Carole finished her full-time performance on the reality series Bravo TV, she explained why she made her decision and admitted that leaving the show was not the easiest thing she could do.
“It’s one of those careers that has just become a merry-go-round. Once you’ve started, it’s hard to jump off. It helped sell a lot of books and I built this audience for my future work,” Carole explained to WWD. on July 8.
Before joining the cast of RHONY in the fifth season of the show in 2012, Carole released her first book What Remains: A Memoir of Fate, Friendship & Loss in 2005. Then, in 2013, her second book, The Widow’s Guide to Sex and Dating: a novel, was published.
“It was a pretty interesting, weird, fun kind of thing to do,” Carole said about her time on the show.
Although the women of the Real Housewives franchises are known to be dramatic and capricious sometimes, Carole said she was very different and not used to the way the ladies talked to each other.
“I don’t like the name that calls. I knew I wasn’t going to get drunk, darkened or naked … But I was just enjoying myself. I never felt like I was above the show,” she said.
Carole then shared the real reason why she chose to stop the Bravo series, and said she hit her breaking point when she had a fight with Bravo executives.
“In the last two years or so, starting with the elections, something changed. I felt,” I don’t know if I want to contribute to this conversation so much, “she explained.” Then I got a lot of arguments – not with the other cast members, with the managers on the network. It was time to go. They also knew … In the end you know when something is behind you. “
Although Carole does not go into details about the cause of the breakup with Bravo’s higher ups, it has been reported that she felt they were giving Bethenny Frankel with whom she was playing during her last season, preferential treatment and giving her the chance to shoot the shots to mention .
While Carole had filled the drama of The Real Housewives from New York City after being on the show for six seasons, she gladly took a few fans with her when she left the show.
“When you were at ABC as a journalist at one of the shows, you left – and the audience stayed with the networks. Now you leave with the audience. This is a whole new game,” she explained.
Carole is currently working on her third book. No message yet about a possible release date.
