Are you ready for this?
Carrie Underwood will organize the CMA Awards 2019, but unlike the past 11 – yes, 11 – years, Brad Paisley will not accompany her on stage. Instead, the superstar gets a little help from icons and guest hosts Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire, the Country Music Association announced Monday.
The 53rd annual show, praised as the greatest night of country music, will pay special tribute to the beloved female artists of the genre. And this groundbreaking trio is indeed the perfect fit to chair the star-studded evening. Carrie, Dolly and Reba have together achieved 124 CMA nominations and 22 victories, with 11 of those trophies from the coveted Female Vocalist of the Year category. Not to mention Dolly and Reba are also Country Music Hall of Fame members.
Needless to say, they are one powerful group and that we are heading for a wild night.
“It is an incredible honor to welcome Carrie, Reba and Dolly to the CMA Awards phase this year,” CMA Chief Executive Officer Sarah Trahern said in a statement. “In addition to awarding the best and smartest of the year in the genre, the 53rd annual CMA Awards celebrate the legacy of women within Country Music, and we couldn’t think of a more dynamic group of women to organize the show.”
But first mark your calendars!
Nominations for the long-awaited show are announced at Good Morning America on Wednesday, August 28. The 2019 CMA Awards, held in Nashville, will be broadcast on ABC Wednesday, November 13 at 8 p.m.
