‘Counting On’: Duggar kids live at home until marriage

‘Counting On’ Duggar kids live at home until marriage

The Duggar family is in all the news right now for all the wrong reasons. A local news station insists that the family complex in Tontitown, Arkansas, was recently raided by police. Meanwhile, the Duggars vehemently deny that it happened. No one is sure what is happening.

The truth of the alleged raid will eventually come to light. But one thing that eagle-eyed fans might have noticed is a very interesting detail that Jedidiah Duggar, 20, revealed during a statement about the incident.

Is it true that you are not living at home even though you are not married yet?

Fans know that the Duggars are not like most other families. Their eccentricities, such as family sizes larger than the average and strict religious rules, are what gave them a TLC television show in the first place. One of the most commented customs that Duggars follow is to keep their children at home until they get married.

This rule is not too shocking since most of Duggar’s descendants marry young. But Jana Duggar is the exception to this and still lives under the roof of her parents at the age of 29 because she has not yet chosen a husband.

Fans are very supportive or incredibly suspicious of the situation.

Jedidiah Duggar said he doesn’t live at home

Although fans predict that Jedidiah Duggar could be the next to announce a courtship (if not Jana), he is technically not yet married. But he is pursuing some great vocations in life. Jedidiah recently appeared in the headlines when he announced his intention to enter the race for the Arkansas House of Representatives.

His political aspirations are probably part of the reason he was interviewed in the wake of the possible Duggar scandal. When asked about Duggar’s compound raid, Jedidiah said he was not aware of any investigation into the family’s home.

“I don’t live there, and I’m not aware of any investigation,” he told KNWA.

It should not be surprising that Jedidiah was able to leave home even though Jana has not yet done so. The Duggars advocate patriarchal family structures where the husband works outside the home and the wife stays at home and takes care of the children. With this configuration, it makes more sense for boys to start earning money and supporting themselves from an early age. For girls, there is no need.

Obviously, Jana Duggar is an adult woman who can do whatever she wants. But to keep the peace in his family and please his parents, he still follows his rules even now.

Who will enter a courtship next?

Both Jana and Jedidiah are excellent contenders to enter into a courtship below. And both have their own Instagram accounts, which, according to many Duggar fans, indicates that they will soon announce dating. Other Duggar couples use joint accounts and only join Instagram once they get married.

We will have to wait and see who is going to get married, if there really was a raid on Duggar’s house, and if Jedidiah will fulfill his political dreams. Stay tuned for more updates!
