Jill Duggar can’t take a break. The other day, the mother of two shared some photos of her children Samuel and Israel eating some edamame for a healthy snack. But it didn’t take long for crying mothers to flood their November 19 Instagram post with critical comments about their parenting decisions.
People can’t get over the bibs Jill puts on her kids
In the photos, both Israel, 4, and Samuel, 2, wear what looks like silicone bibs. Each one has a pocket in the front to catch any piece of food or spillage. This style of bib has received excellent reviews from parents who love that it facilitates cleaning at mealtime. But some commentators on Jill Duggar’s Instagram think it’s time for him to save the bib for his eldest son.
“Izzy is a bit older for a bib. If you sit at the table correctly, there shouldn’t be much mess, ”one wrote.
“Jill Duggar, Israel is 4 years old. It’s time for you to get rid of your bib. I have worked with many 4-year-old children in preschool and none of them used a bib when they ate breakfast, had lunch or ate snacks, “said another.
“Still with that stupid bib. He’s too old for that and edamame isn’t even messy. Teach him manners and he won’t need a bib at his age, “added another critical commentator.
This isn’t the first time people have criticized the bibs
Jill’s decision to put bibs on his children has become a critical point for commentators. They have criticized her use of articles in the past, stating that she needs to teach her older son to eat without getting dirty.
So far, Jill Duggar has not responded directly to any of his critics. But when a commenter wrote that they wish they could have a similar adult bib for them and that the bibs were “mess savers” when they had young children, Jill agreed.
“Really, right? Haha,” she replied. Apparently, she is not letting the comments of the mother-shamers change their parenting style.
Others praised Jill for feeding her kids a healthy snack
While several people had thoughts about Jill Duggar’s use of bibs, other commentators praised the former Counting On star for feeding her children a healthy snack. (Edamame is a good source of fiber, protein and iron, says WebMD).
“How do they get their children to eat so many healthy foods ?! They seem so adventurous with food for their age! ”One wondered.
“How do you prepare edamame? It is such a healthy meal and I wish my children would eat it! ”Asked another.
Since Jill Duggar grew up eating a lot of canned and processed foods, it is not surprising that his choice of a healthier snack generated positive comments. But at least one commenter was worried that he was hurting his children by feeding them with edamame, which are soy.
“Children should not be given soy,” the person wrote, adding that “feminizes” male children, as it contains compounds that are similar to estrogen. But soy is perfectly safe for children of all genders, wrote registered dietitian Sally Kuzemchak in Parents.
It seems that, whatever Jill Duggar does, people will have comments.
