The charge against actor Jussie Smollett, who was accused of making a hate crime attack on himself in Chicago on January 22, 2019, has all fallen. Smollett now appears on Tuesday in court in Chicago for an emergency session.
In an official statement from Tuesday, March 26, the lawyers of the Empire star said:
“All accusations against Jussie Smollett have been dropped and his report has been swept clean of filing the complaint against him. Jussie was attacked by two people he could not identify on January 29. He was a victim who was defamed and had to appear as a perpetrator as a result of false and inappropriate comments to the public caused an inappropriate urgency to judge. “
“Jussie and many others were injured by these unfair and unjustified actions. This whole situation recalls that an attempt should never be made to prove a case in public opinion. That is a mistake. In this case, Jussie , deserves dignity and respect. The dismissal of charges against the victim was the only correct result in this case. Jussie is relieved that he has this situation behind him and looks forward to returning to focusing on his family, friends and career. “
