In the latest episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, Daniele and Yohan’s relationship is put to the test once again. The couple, who got married in the Dominican Republic, are now facing issues related to traditional gender norms.
In a sneak peek from an upcoming episode, Daniele and Yohan argue over who gets to drive while they are on their way home. Daniele insists that she is a better driver than Yohan, who has been in an accident and received a ticket in the past. However, Yohan feels that as a man, he should be the one driving.
Daniele, who is tired of the constant fighting, ultimately lets Yohan drive, but not without expressing her fear that her suitcases might fall off the roof of the car due to his reckless driving. She also points out that Yohan is very attached to traditional gender norms, which she does not conform to.
“If Yohan hasn’t figured out at this point that patriarchy isn’t going to work with me, then he’s been missing a lot of elements in our relationship thus far,” Daniele says.
The couple’s argument highlights the challenges faced by many couples who come from different cultural backgrounds. While Daniele is an American who is used to challenging gender roles, Yohan comes from a culture where traditional gender norms are deeply ingrained.
Daniele and Yohan’s relationship has been on rocky ground ever since they got married. They have been struggling with issues related to trust and communication, and this latest argument only adds to their list of problems.
However, Daniele remains optimistic about the future of their relationship. “Though I might be a little bit tired in this moment, this isn’t something that is going to fly long-term,” she says.
Fans of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way will have to wait and see how Daniele and Yohan’s relationship unfolds in future episodes. However, it is clear that they have a lot of work to do if they want to make their marriage work.
