TV shows Ace recently reported that one of the Deadliest Catch crab boats, The Time Bandit, was for sale. So why is Captain Johnathan Hillstrand back fishing for King Crab?
Former Deadliest Catch Star Posts Cryptic Message
Former Deadliest Catch star, Captain Johnathan Hillstrand recently posted a video and a cryptic message on Twitter. The wobbly video was made in the sea. In the vicinity a blue and white crab boat rocked to the huge waves. Viewers feel almost seasick and watch the wave. There is no human sound, only the wind and the waves. Then there was the cryptic caption. Captain Johnathan tweeted: “Maybe I was fishing for King Crab. Maybe I filmed this. Maybe I was filmed. “
Does this mean that Johnathan Hillstrand is back on the Deadliest Catch? He was pretty mysterious, but all signs point to his return to the show. John is clearly on the Bering Sea. He shared a video of a boat at sea. But he did not mention Discovery or the Deadliest Catch. Maybe he can’t name the show or Discovery?
But the time is right. It is the season of King Crab. Northwestern captain Mandy Hansen-Pederson recently published on Instagram that their King Crab season had been completed. Was Captain Johnathan behind the wheel of a crab fishing boat on the Bering Sea for the King Crab 2019 season? This would be a huge change because Johnathan retired and has not been fishing for more than a year.

Is Captain Johnathan Un-Retiring?
Before anyone can get excited about the possibility that Johnathan Hillstrand will return to the show, we need to find out if he is still scratching.
At the end of season 13 of the Deadliest Catch, Captain Johnathan officially withdrew from crab fishing and the show. He went out in a glow of glory.
But in season 14, while the Time Bandit was no longer in the show, the Cornelia Marie returned. But during his first retirement year, Captain John was fishing and posted short videos. He was hardly retired. He was working! John explained that he was working again to pay taxes and bills. He even encouraged fans to contact Discovery to get him back on the show.
In the late summer of 2018, Deadliest Catch fans had promising news. Then the executive producer, Decker Watson, shared that Captain John may return for season 15. But the excitement was short-lived.
Just a few weeks later, TV shows Ace reported that the Time Bandit was out of operation and Captain John had to cancel the King Crab season because they had to overhaul the boat’s engine. For the first time in 38 years, Johnathan Hillstrand had to miss this important crab season, as the engine blew up completely.
Time Bandit Still Up For Sale
Every ounce of hope that fans had was destroyed when TV shows Ace reported that the Time Bandit was mentioned. Even after Captain Johnathan’s recent cryptic tweet, Dock Street Boaters still offered the boat for sale. The selling price remains $ 2,888,888.
Could Johnathan really take the Hillstrand family boat, with Discovery cameramen, to catch some crab and pay some bills? Stay tuned!
