From the outside it seems that Demi Moore has it all.
She is an actress, a producer, a mother of three and more. The path to success of the 56-year-old star, however, was not easy.
Moore talked about the obstacles she has overcome in life for the October issue of Harper’s Bazaar.
According to the magazine, Moore had a “nomadic childhood” – one in which she traveled through the country with her parents and her brother. The painful experiences started at a young age. At one point during the interview, Moore recalled that she was in a hurry to revive her mother after an overdose.
“The next thing I remember is using my fingers, the little fingers of a child, to dig the pills my mother had tried to swallow from her mouth while my father held him open and told me what to do,” she said. “Something very deep within me then changed, and it never changed back. My childhood was over.”
According to the publication, Moore’s mother sometimes took her to an apartment in West Hollywood to escape her father’s alcoholism, which Moore later learned was not her biological parent. Here she met Nastassja Kinski. As she wrote in her new memoir, Inside Out, Moore helped Kinski prepare rules for her audition.
“She felt like she wanted me to,” she said per Harper’s Bazaar. “Although I did not know what it was. For me she represented a sense of freedom that I could not even fathom. It was a sense of belonging. [And I felt] if I could fit there, it would mean that it was good is that I am here … that it is good that I was born. “
According to The New York Times, Moore also revealed in the book that she was raped at the age of 15.
At the age of 16, Moore met her first husband, Freddy. They got married two years later, but eventually divorced. In the meantime, her star rose. She appeared at the General Hospital and played roles in films such as Blame It on Rio. Moore married Bruce Willis in 1987. In the course of their marriage, they welcomed three children together. She has also played in films such as Ghost, Indecent Proposal, Striptease and G.I. Jane. After more than a decade of marriage, the couple of celebrities broke down.

Moore then went out with Ashton Kutcher. The two often made headlines, especially about their age difference of 15 years. According to The New York Times, Moore became pregnant with a girl during their time together. She intended to call the child Chaplin Ray; However, she lost the baby for six months in her pregnancy. According to the newspaper, Moore started drinking after losing the child.
The stars married in 2005. According to The New York Times, Moore and Kutcher pursued fertility treatments during their marriage. However, according to the newspaper, her drinking deteriorated and she abused Vicodin.
Kutcher filed a divorce in 2012 and it was completed in 2013. Kutcher is now married to Mila Kunis.
After seeing her health and relationship with her daughters deteriorate, Moore sought help. According to the newspaper, she eventually rehabilitated for trauma, codependency and substance abuse and sought help for her health problems. She also began to rebuild her relationships with her children.

Moore talked about this difficult time in her life for Harper’s Bazaar.
“In retrospect, I realized that when I opened the door [again], it just gave away my strength,” she said as she talked about her fight with austerity. She added: “I think I would think that way: it was really important for me to have a natural birth because I didn’t want to miss a moment. And with that I experienced pain. So part of being sober is, I don’t want to miss a single moment of life, that texture, even if that means I’m in some pain. “
Everything she has experienced in life, however, has brought her to where she is now. As she put it: “Learning that I’m alone with me was a great gift that I could give myself.”
