Emmerdale: Vanessa Woodfield gets arrested in Emmerdale this week

Vanessa Woodfield of EMMERDALE feels the long arm of the law when she is arrested at Hotten General while doctors fight to save the life of Kerry Wyatt.

Fans of the hit ITV soap know that Kerry – played by Laura Norton – is in a critical state after being pushed over during a vicious battle with Tracy Metcalfe.

Kerry’s furious daughter Amy holds Tracy fully responsible for what happened to her mother and stopped by the house last night to tell her she’s going to the police about the fight.

Coming scenes will result in Tracy’s sister, Vanessa Woodfield, with Amy in the hospital – causing her to accidentally beat a nurse.

The police then arrive and lead an indignant Vanessa – Michelle Hardwick – away.

During last night’s episode, Vanessa and Amy almost exploded when the vet accused her of hiding the fact that she and Kerry had stolen money from the factory and lit the fire.

She scolded Amy – Natalie-Ann Jamieson – because she made the whole village think her father Frank was a thief before Amy recalled Tracy Kerry attacking and she intended to tell the police.

Later in the episode, Kerry came by and begged her daughter to drop things with Tracy, but Amy – still smart after her contact with Vanessa – told her to go to the police.

Viewers also saw last night how Kerry took a turn when she suffered a cardiac arrest.

Actress Laura Norton – who has played Kerry for eight years – appeared on Lorraine last week and revealed that her character has reached the breaking point – so this could be the beginning of the end for her.

About her dramatic storyline and showdown with Tracy Metcalfe that led to her accident, Laura said: “That is the beginning of her breaking point, there is only so long that you can suppress it.

“She lives with this girl (Tracy), she has become best friends and she has grown to love her and I think it is gradually earning her away.

“So that’s actually the beginning of the end.”

Kerry and Amy have been trying for weeks to hide the fact that they were behind the devastating factory outbreak that killed Tracy and Vanessa’s father, Frank Clayton, in the summer.

Viewers have seen Tracy – played by Amy Walsh – fall apart after he lost Frank and had to deal with the consequences of the rest of the village, thinking he was the one who started the fire.

And when Kerry finally confessed that she was the one responsible for her father’s death, a grieving Tracy was destroyed.

Kerry and her daughter then tried to lock Tracy in the house to prevent her from going to the police, but she managed to escape and run for it.

Kerry was behind her, however, and the two women ended up in a heated struggle watching Tracy push Kerry away from her – causing her to fall to the ground and hit her head on a few stones.
