31-year-old Geno Dacunto from New Haven, Connecticut, appeared on TLC’s “My 600-lb Life” in season 11 episode 1. He weighed 684 pounds and had an unhealthy relationship with food, using it as a coping mechanism. His obesity was due to his family background and came from an Italian family where food was a big part of their daily lifestyle.
In an interview, Geno discussed the daily struggles and problems he faced due to his weight and food addiction, including physical pain in his back, knees, and feet.
Geno Dacunto visited Dr. Nowzaradan, the Iranian-American surgeon who has been with the show since 2012, and was told to lose 60 pounds within a month to lead a healthier lifestyle. His cousin, Nico, supported him throughout his journey and both wanted to lose weight together. Geno followed the weight-loss plan provided by Dr. Nowzaradan and was able to lose 60 pounds in a month with Nico’s support.
Geno Dacunto sought help from Dr. Nowzaradan and was able to go through with a successful gastric bypass surgery. After the surgery, he experienced positive changes in his mental and physical health. Geno is now working as a chef at a restaurant in New Haven and has found love with his soulmate Jessica De’Loughery. He is reportedly still living with his mother and doing well in his weight loss journey.
