If you haven’t had an intense FOMO experience this week, let us help you with that. In the third episode of The OG Chronicles from OprahMag.com, BFF’s Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King prove that they are the friends we don’t deserve, but we all need. The segment starts with the women involved in the family drama theme, followed by a question from a female fan. And, well, someone out there should no doubt hear the truth of the gospel of Winfrey and King today.
The dynamic duo’s dilemma consisted of a woman who had an emotional relationship with her sister’s ex-boyfriend behind her sister’s back. What should she do, the anonymous female fan wondered? Winfrey and King have not said a word. “Stop it now! Wow. It breaks the girlfriend code,” Winfrey said, while King looked at, “Friend code, sister code, family code!” Their advice might stop there because they captured the essence of the problem. But Winfrey added a hilarious personal anecdote from the women’s past to give their answer a little more impact.
The fact that the following clip contains the term ‘boinking’ and a reference to straitjackets, should give you a good indication of the type of magic that occurs when Winfrey and King together advise.
“I’ve been dating Stedman [Graham] – I don’t know, I’ve been with him since 1775,” she joked, and continued, “So we’ve been together for a long time. But early in our relationship I did these shows with “my sister slept with my sister’s husband,” “my sister slept with my friend,” and so on. And Gayle said … “At this point, King is taking her reaction from long ago during those shocking talk show days. “If you ever catch me and Stedman snooping around, walking around the garden, or taking us to bed,” King recalled, “she shouldn’t even be mad at me.” Because she should say that I have lost my mind. Take me to the hospital. “
King even went so far as to tell Winfrey that if it was ever said that “swimming” would be needed, Winfrey would have to bring a medical professional, put her in a straitjacket, and have her do it. And to be honest, if your best friend is not willing to be betrayed, is your friendship real?
