A Brazilian nurse has shared the heartwarming story of a homeless patient whose dogs have waited outside the hospital to be treated.
Cris Mammim’s 9 December post on her Facebook page about the meeting went viral.
“In the hospital where I work, at 3 o’clock in the morning, while [their] owner – a street resident – was answered, his companions waited at the door”, read the post translated by Facebook, originally written in Portuguese.
Mamprim described the man as “a simple person, without luxury, who is dependent on help to overcome the hunger, the cold, the pain.” And yet, she wrote, “has the best companions by his side”.
Four dogs are patiently waiting for the man on a photo near the post. They look healthy and are worried about their caregiver.
She kept saying that the man had given familiar food so that his dogs could be fed.
“See them like that, waiting at the door, showing how much they take good care of and what they love,” wrote Mamprim.
The function has now gained more than 77,000 shares and 128,000 likes.
