Meghan Markle is almost having his birthday. (!!!)
On August 4, the Duchess of Sussex turns 38 and she is allegedly calling in response to a party at Frogmore Cottage. Close relatives and friends will accompany Markle for her big day, but some of your favorites are said not to be – like Kate Middleton for example.
It’s “unlikely” that Markle invited Middleton to her party
A source told The Sun in a August 2 report: “It is unlikely that the Cambridges will be invited to Meghan’s 38th birthday on Sunday.”
It is unclear why Kate Middleton is unlikely to receive an invitation, but the outlet reported that Meghan Markle is trying to hold a “withheld” party. Allegedly, after the ‘PR disaster’ around her NYC baby shower, she doesn’t want anything special. ICYMI, the shower received criticism because of its hefty price tag and star-studded guest list.
The update comes amid feud rumors between the two duchesses.
Markle and Middleton have been confronted with feud rumors for months. However, they have done their best to prove that there is no tension between them. For example, in July they did several joint appearances, including at Wimbleton and a polo match between their spouses.
Sources have also said that the two forge a healthy relationship. An insider told Hello Magazine (via The Daily Mail): “Kate was a great source of support for Meghan in the days prior to the birth of Archie. Despite reports of a breach, they are family and have a very nice friendship. Their relationship has certainly evolved over time and they have become closer since Meghan’s marriage. “
“They talk and send text messages regularly. They have more in common and Kate wanted to make Meghan feel welcome in the family, “the insider continued.

This morning, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was christened in the Private Chapel at Windsor Castle at an intimate service officiated by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are so happy to share the joy of this day with members of the public who have been incredibly supportive since the birth of their son. They thank you for your kindness in welcoming their first born and celebrating this special moment. Their Royal Highnesses feel fortunate to have enjoyed this day with family and the godparents of Archie. Their son, Archie, was baptised wearing the handmade replica of the royal christening gown which has been worn by royal infants for the last 11 years. The original Royal Christening Robe, made of fine Honiton lace lined with white satin, was commissioned by Queen Victoria in 1841 and first worn by her eldest daughter. It was subsequently worn for generations of Royal christenings, including The Queen, her children and her grandchildren until 2004, when The Queen commissioned this handmade replica, in order for the fragile historic outfit to be preserved, and for the tradition to continue. Meghan Markle has other birthday plans
The duchess has planned at least two other things, according to reports. For example, she spends some time with Prince Harry, who is flying back from an Italian work trip to get to know her.
“Prince Harry is coming back from Google Camp in Sicily, where he delivered a speech on the fight against climate change, so they will quietly spend Meghan’s birthday as a family. The Sussexes have been so busy this year that I can imagine her birthday just a well deserved day of rest with a few friends – and of course precious moments with Archie, “said royal reporter Omid Scobie.
Queen Elizabeth has something special planned for Markle, too
The queen reportedly invited Markle to her favorite retreat, Balmoral, where she will give her a tea party.
“It is proof of Meghan that she received this invitation. It’s a huge [honor], “a source told The Sun. “They will celebrate Meghan’s birthday and the catering team will bake a cake on the occasion.”
“Meghan may be a duchess who has everything she wants, but the queen gives her a thoughtful gift,” the insider continued. “It’s no secret Balmoral is Her Majesty’s [favorite] house and that’s why this invitation is so special and genuine.”
The sun notes that the Cambridges are also expected to visit Balmoral in August. But it is unclear whether the visit is related to Markle’s reported tea party.
Perhaps it is; maybe it’s not. Keep your eyes open for updates.
