When it was her 50th birthday this year, Jennifer Aniston had some thoughts about it.
So much so that she had collected six of her friends for a nice weekend trip to Mexico. The flight, however, did not go as smoothly as planned, when the actress’s private jet had to make an emergency landing. But despite the little hiccups, The Morning Show star and her besties were back on another plane and were ready to make ends meet for their “goddess circle” ritual.
The 50-year-old actress told the New York Times that she and her best friends have been doing this “goddess circle” tradition for more than three decades. In fact, they come together and do so during each other’s major life events, both of which include Jennifer’s weddings with Brad Pitt and Justin Theroux.
For this specific meeting, however, the actress Murder Mystery explained that it was all about embracing her age and how far their group had come. “It’s so weird. There’s so much disaster around that number,” she told the NYT.
So what does the “goddess circle” mean? During their ritual, the women sit cross-legged on the floor, pass a stick decorated with sticks and feathers and determine their intentions, according to the publication.
Although it is unclear who exactly is part of this tradition, the publication Andrea Bendewald dropped. Moreover, Courteney Cox and Molly Kimmel went to Mexico with Jennifer Aniston for her birthday party.
And it seems that their traditional gathering has some sort of magical powers, because it appears that Jennifer Aniston has the feeling that she is entering a “creatively fulfilling period.”
“I’m going into what I think is one of the most creatively fulfilling periods of my life,” she revealed. “I have been doing this for 30 years and I have the feeling that it will really flourish.”
It cannot be more true, as she returns in November for Apple’s TV series, The Morning Show. She plays together with Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carell. In addition, both Reese and Jennifer will hold a title of executive producer for the show.
With so many projects in a row, it is clear that the star of Dumplin is just starting.
“It took time to get to where I am and I put a lot of work into my job,” she shared. “I have failed. I have succeeded. I have overcome. I am, you know, I have stayed. I am still here.”
All in all, age is just a number … and the 50-year-old pictogram is not going anywhere.
