You might know Jenny Morrison as the ‘First Lady’ of Australia, but she also has a few hidden culinary talents in store.
Jenny has revealed exclusively to 9Honey that she has a secret weapon right that she picks up when she receives guests.
It is none other than the typical Australian dessert – the pavlova.
“I find it very easy to make, it’s my dessert,” says Jenny Nine’s Digital Content Director Helen McCabe in her first solo interview.
“Mother made them, she would whip them up and twenty for a wedding. And I am the same. “
During the interview, the mother of two also reflects at the time that Prince Harry “hit” her pavlova in the words of her husband, Prime Minister Scott Morrison, during the Royal Tour in October 2018.
As a guest of Harry and his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex at Kirribilli House, the mother of two treated the royal couple with a marshmallowpavlova she drew from the Australian Women’s Weekly Cookbook.
“They were delicious, we had afternoon tea together, I thought I would make them a pavlova,” she recalls.
“I took it out of the oven at 1 o’clock … one of those moments when you go, ‘life is a bit crazy to do things late at night’.”
It is also known that the prime minister himself has a tendency to pick up curries during the weekend.
Jenny confirms that her husband is still regularly cooking his signature curry for the family in their new home.
“He did last night last Saturday!” She says.
The Prime Minister unveiled his culinary chops at the Goose Island Bland Flavor festival, where he presented his Sri Lankan recipe with chicken cores.
