In the event of any doubt, Kate Middleton has great respect in the royal family.
The newest proof of this is the new photos from the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Earlier this week, the queen turned out for the press day of the flower exhibition to design a tour of the “Back to Nature” garden, which helped Kate. Kate and her husband, Prince William, have personally guided the queen in the garden.
When Elizabeth arrived in the garden, she and Kate shared a moment that proves how high the status of the Duchess of Cambridge within The Firm is. While greeting the queen, Kate leaned forward to give her a kiss on the cheek and then bend it (see photos of the kiss and cheek bending here).
It is not just the fact that Kate gave Elizabeth a family kiss on the cheek that shows how much the queen respects her granddaughter. It is also the order in which Kate’s greeting actions took place. Kate first gave Elizabeth the cheek kiss and then a reverence.
As royal reporters have noted, the double cheek kiss could be how the royal family greets each other in private functions, but doing it for the cameras is enough in itself. To do it before you give the queen the usual bow? This shows that Kate is considered to be one of the Queen’s blood relatives in the inner circle.
