For months, rumors have been waving that Kate Middleton is arguing with her old friend, Rose Hanbury, and has requested that Rose be “phased out” by their family in their social environment.
Some have even gone so far as to call Rose the “rural rival” of the Duchess (referring to the fact that Rose comes from the area near their homeland) and Kate is said to be quite displeased with rumors of a feud.
Business escalated when the accusations began to spread that Prince William had deceived his wife with Rose. Of course this is all pure speculation, and the royal family seldom (or never) responds publicly to rumors – so it is quite possible that there is no tension at all between Kate and Rose.
That said, the eyebrows of royal spectators were raised by the news that the supposed queen of the future queen appeared at a recent state banquet at Buckingham Palace.
According to Cosmopolitan, Rose was present at the Monday evening event because of her husband, David Rocksavage, who is the Marquis of Cholmondeley. As part of the aristocratic class of England, the couple is expected to appear at certain royal events.
Although Kate and Rose were both present, they were not photographed together, so it is unclear whether they have intervened at all. The sun reported that the two were separate but not very far apart, with Kate a few meters away from her friend-possibly-turned-frenemy.
