Keith Urban made an appearance on the “Today Show” this morning, where he talked about the possibility of going back on tour and also performed a couple of his hits, including “Wild Hearts,” “One Too Many,” and “Superman.” He currently has a somewhat alarming eye injury, though he didn’t let that get in the way of his appearance on the show.
Keith Urban Eye Injury on ‘Today’ Show
Keith Urban wasn’t about to let anything get in the way of his performance today. He called the opportunity to play in front of a live audience “a breath of fresh air.” He compared the shows on Zoom to “standing outside the window of a nightclub.” It’s all the more special since the show takes place in New York City. He asked his wife, Nicole Kidman, to marry him right next to the Hudson River. They have now been married for 15 years. Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have two daughters together, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.
He talked about his children on the show after being asked if they are more interested in music or acting. He replied “a bit of both.” For Keith Urban, his role as a family man with Nicole Kidman is one he has dreamed of.
Keith Urban was on Dax Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast last year, where he talked about meeting Kidman in 2005 and all the sparks that ensued. “She’s just the one, that was it. She’s the one that I was searching for my whole life, and everything not only changed but had to change in me if I was going to go that road…”
While Keith Urban has been blessed to get back to live music, it hasn’t all been positive. Keith is mourning the loss of his long-time tour group member. His producer Randy “Baja” Fletcher died on 27 August after falling from the stage. Keith Urban was performing at Bash on the Bay’s Put on the Bay in Bay, Ohio on March 26 when Fletcher fell and was hospitalized with serious injuries. He died at the age of 73, surrounded by family members.
