Kelly Clarkson used her powerful vocals to pay tribute to an unlikely trio of artists – Cardi B, Post Malone and Lauryn Hill – and the results were pure magic.
The singer and the “Voice” coach surprised the fans by covering all three musicians on Thursday night during her “Meaning of Life” Tour stop in Long Island, New York. Revealing that she had rehearsed the mashup hours before, Clarkson released her own version of Cardi’s “Be Careful” and Malone’s “Better Now”
She finished the epic cover with Hill’s “Ex-Factor” from 1998, which Cardi also sampled.
“We literally merged this afternoon,” Clarkson told the crowd at NYCB Live’s Nassau Coliseum.
“I just love all those artists, I’m such a fan!” She continued. “I probably should have split them all up and treated them all separately, but I love it when something is so good, it reminds you of something else that’s so good and you just marry them.”
Clarkson’s mashup was amazing and based on the applause of the audience, they thought so too!
