Kevin Hart recovers after a car accident.
According to an ET press release by the California Highway Patrol, Hart was a passenger in a vehicle that crashed near Calabasas, California on Sunday at 12:45 PM.
Jared S. Black drove Hart’s vehicle, a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, at the time of the accident, which occurred when Black turned from Cold Canyon Road to Mulholland Highway, according to the release.
“Black immediately lost control of the vehicle and Plymouth left the road and rolled over the north dike,” the release says, adding that Black, who was “determined not to be under the influence of alcohol,” and another passenger, Rebecca Broxterman got stuck in the car due to the accident.
Hart, meanwhile, “left the scene to his nearby hometown to get medical help,” the release explains. While Broxterman ‘only suffered from pain’, both Hart and Black were taken to nearby hospitals as a result of ‘serious back injuries’, the release said.
Hart bought the car involved in the July accident as a 40th birthday present for himself. “I added a little more muscle power to the family before I turned 40,” he wrote an Instagram post of himself by car at the time. “Welcome home ‘Menace’ #MuscleCarLover”
