Kim Kardashian made her fifth wedding anniversary with husband Kanye West to remember.
On Sunday night’s episode of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” Kim, 39, was secretly seen planning an intimate vow renewal ceremony for her and West, which was expected to take place a few days after the birth of their fourth child , Psalm West.
“I just want to plan something special and take this over,” Kim said in a solo interview. “So I thought, let’s just do something nice and sweet in our backyard and just make more of a memory.”
Snafus followed when Kim found out that the “Jesus Walks” rapper, 42, was planning an outbreak for his birthday. She finally decided to come clean with her plans so that she and Kanye could work together on something.
“In the beginning I wanted to keep it a complete surprise and then I heard that he was trying to plan something,” Kim explained to Pastor Rich Wilkerson Jr., who led the couple’s wedding in May 2014 and returned for their renewal.
“Everyone was kind of weird. And I was like, “Guys, if he tries to plan something and I try to plan something?” Someone has to say something and we just do it together. “
“It is what it is.”
Kim invited their entire family to the affair, as well as anyone who was at their wedding five years ago. While taking traditional vows during their Italian wedding, the second time Kim and Kanye opted for original vows.
“Kanye always talks about how we had traditional vows at our wedding,” Kim said in an interview. “At the time, I didn’t even think for all those people that I could get together to say original vows.”
The couple decided not to film their renewal of the oath for the E! reality series because they wanted to keep it as a special memory for themselves; Kim, however, gave fans a teasing of what she said when she read a fragment of her vows to their 3-year-old son Saint.
“You are my husband. You are my best friend. My greatest believer and my only true love,” Kim read.
