If you haven’t heard the news yet, we’re not sure where you’ve been, but Game 8 Thrones’ Season 8 is finally ready for premiere on Sunday, April 14. After a biennial interruption – the fantasy story finally comes to a thunderous conclusion and we can seriously wait.
Although we have surrendered to the grandeur of the series – including the epic battles, betrayal and filthy love stories, one of the most glorious parts of Game of Thrones is the elaborate costumes. Now designer Michele Clapton has revealed all her secretly costumed secrets.
Kit Harington hated Jon Snow’s costume for one major reason
After eight seasons and almost a decade working on Game of Thrones, most actors have chosen to take their costumes home to commemorate their time in the series. Kit Harington, who is shining like Jon Snow on #demthrones, didn’t want to see his suit ever again. Michele Clapton told Marie Claire: “[Kit Harington] was happy to see the back of him, because he weighed so much – and that’s sad. We were proud of the look we created.”
Season 8 of Game of Thrones was especially difficult to film
We are sure that Harington was happy to never see his costume again, especially after the horror that occurred during the filming of season 8. The last season of Game of Thrones required a lot of discipline and some very long nights. According to Entertainment Weekly, our favorite character came together for 11 weeks of night shots to film the last fight on Game of Thrones. Iain Glen those stars like Ser Jorah Mormont on GoT said it wasn’t a good time. He said to EW,
It was the most unpleasant experience I had on Thrones. A real test, really miserable. You go to sleep at seven in the morning and when you wake up in the afternoon you are still so exhausted that you can’t really do anything, and then you are back. You have no life outside of it. You have an absolute set of actors. But without doing anything about it [acting], it bleeds on the screen to the reality of the Thrones world. “
Kit Harington says the final season of Games of Thrones will be a bloodbath
If you thought that Hardhome, the Battle of the Bastards or the Battle of the Blackwater were too much to handle, then you may not be prepared for the last season of GoT. With White Walkers and an army of wights, giants and an ice breathing dragon on the side of the Night King, the number of casualties during Season 8 will be astronomical.
In an interview with Deadline, Kit Harington, who plays Jon on GoT, gave some insight into what he thinks could undergo during the last season. He said,
The thing is, with so few characters left that they (the viewers) have to get used to and get ready for next year, Thrones is to return to quickly shape and kill his main characters. They will go, and they will fast, and I think that the payout of our characters this year is not in great danger that it will be a bloodbath next year.
