Leonardo DiCaprio and Will Smith work together to save the Amazon rainforest – by selling runners.
The stars, who in recent years have expressed great concern for climate change and the destroyed environment, are launching two new pairs of trainers to raise money for the Amazon Rainforest Fund from DiCaprio.
Shoe and sock company Allbirds, with Leo as one of the main investors, and Will’s durable watermark JUST have come together to create the limited edition shoes – whose profits will go entirely to saving the rainforest.
The runners start at € 105 with the toppers that cost € 127.
All the money that is collected from the sale goes directly to the Amazon forest that has been destroyed by fires for almost a month.
“There is only one Mother Earth and it is up to us to protect her,” said Smith. “The Brazilian Amazon, our largest carbon sink, has been burning for a month now.”
“We source JUST sugar cane caps from Brazil, so this is mainly close to home.
“Collaboration with companies that create innovative, sustainable solutions is the key to our future, and it is important that we support those brands that give back more than they take.”
