Los Angeles Lakers: December will be the toughest month of the regular season Los Angeles Lakers: December will be the toughest month of the regular season

The Los Angeles Lakers have matched the franchise’s best start of the season while owning the league’s best record at 17-2.
The Los Angeles Lakers are off to a terrific start this season with a 17-2 record, but there upcoming schedule in December will be the toughest of the season.

Of the 19 games played by the Lakers so far this season, only six have been against teams with a winning record. Their schedule was weak. The .475 winning percentage of their opponent is in 24th place in the NBA. The Lakers lost this season to the Clippers and Raptors, giving them only four wins against teams with a winning record.

According to Basketball-Reference, the Lakers have the most difficult schedule in the NBA for the month of December. The Lakers will play a total of 14 games in the coming month, nine at home and five at home. They’ll also be playing 11 of there 14 games against teams with winning records.

There will be a couple of must-see games this upcoming month which includes games against the Clippers, Bucks, and the Nuggets. The Laker’s most important game of the month will be against the Clippers on Christmas day.

They’ll be looking for revenge after suffering the disappointing loss to them on Opening Night. This time though, both teams will most likely be fully healthy and know what to expect when they play.

The results of there December schedule will ultimately decide how good the Lakers really are. This past week, the Lakers have been struggling against teams because of there slow starts and defense.

When they played the Pelicans, Jrue Holiday scored a season-high 25 runs in the first half. Rajon Rondo, who received more minutes in Bradley’s absence, didn’t do the job.

The Lakers definitely need Avery Bradley in the lineup because he’s one of their best defenders on the perimeter of the team. With Bradley in the lineup, the Lakers on average take more blocks, steals and total rebounds according to Basketball-Reference. When Bradley gets back in the lineup, we’ll finally see them play against teams at full speed.

This December schedule will certainly build team chemistry between all players. The Los Angeles Lakers will also make their longest road trip of the season with five games.
