Love After Lockup‘ season 2 returned to our screens on Friday night with a completely new episode, and this time things are heating up for Brittany and Marcelino, who have a baby on the way,
Last week, when the series premiered, we learned that the couple wanted to do an ultrasound, but did not want to find out the sex of the baby.
This week, 29-year-old Brittany reveals that she wants Marcelino to get a regular-paying job instead of just playing poker to take care of her baby. She adds that it’s not easy for her to get a job because she’s been in prison, so it’s him who has to get up.
41-year-old Marcelino is a poker player who believes he is the best and likes to take risks. Especially because he doesn’t want to work among people who are in their 20s and take orders from them.
But Brittany, on the other hand, had a valid argument when she told him that they won’t be able to take care of the baby and pay the lawyer’s bill, which is currently over $30,000.
The lawyer’s expenses began after Marcelino went to Brittany’s ex last season to get full custody of her and her ex’s son, whom he had taken care of for over a year. After the duo got into a fight last season, they must now pay the lawyer to win the current case.
Brittany reveals that she wants him to stop making excuses and get a real job.
Marcelino finally decides to listen to her and goes for an interview with a job agent. He reveals that he has a bachelor’s and a master’s degree, and that he has been working as a model and appearing in videos for several years. Apart from that, the 41-year-old has no other professional experience except gambling.
To get a job on the education front, Marcelino could only talk about poker. The human resources manager, who has shared that Marcelino has an “inflated value” of himself, must step down and decide what he wants, because he won’t give him a job if he could just stop playing poker at any time and go back to playing.
On Twitter, fans and viewers post this episode and claim that Marcelino has to put his pride aside and get a regular job because it’s his fault they have to pay even a lawyer so much.
“Marcelino, put your pride aside and take care of your family,” wrote one fan. Another said, “#loveafterlockup guess what Marcelino … when you start bringing children into the world and fighting people for their children, you lose the right to turn down a job so you can play.”
“I think Marcelino has an inflated value of himself.” Mr. Recruiter, you’ve just summarized Marcelino’s last two seasons of #LoveAfterLockup!,” a fan shared. While another wrote, “Marcelino, we’re out here rooting for you and you don’t really want to work and live delusional dreams.”
“Marcelino, you’re out here making all these babies and refusing to get a job to take care of them?” wrote one fan.
