With the imminent threat of accusation against the McCord government, Elizabeth and Henry make a wish list of things she has to do while she is still in office. “
Liz is listening to an update with her team. Beijing has had a special interest in the small island and she loves to go upstairs. I fly by to see what they are up to. She also speaks out the hearings on deposition and asks if anyone has any questions. Nobody has anything to say. After they leave, Mike tells Liz that she has to do something, that she loses the approval of the public.
Later that night Liz is in the oval. Henry comes down to ask her if she wants to eat, but she tells him she doesn’t want to leave the room. She wants to record it all while she can. She calls out to Blake to go home, but he doesn’t leave until she’s gone. Liz and Henry make a list of what they want to do in the White House for fun while they can. Stevie arrives and gives them the good news, she will introduce Dimitri. They are happy.
The next day Liz is in a good mood and ready to grab the day. She has a long list of tasks concerning Russell. He reminds her that Congress is not supporting her at the moment and that she is taking it much too much. But Liz doesn’t care. She keeps pushing forward.
Dimitri arrives to see Henry. He breaks the news that he wants to receive his blessing because he plans to introduce Stevie. Later Liz and Henry talk about what to do about Stevie and Dimitri. Henry doesn’t think they should do anything.
The next day Henry meets a congressman he has known for a long time to help Liz. Henry talks to him about why he doesn’t cause interference during the hearings when Senator Canning makes unsubstantiated remarks. The congressman has to do what is right for him and the unions he represents are not in his best interest. Henry is very disappointed.
Liz arrives at the hearings to speak to herself. She discusses how she has done nothing but cooperate. Liz handles all the questions well, frustrating Canning, but she is interrupted because of the Chinese problem with the islands. They have opened fire and there have been many casualties. Liz leaves immediately and upsets Canning. In the war room everyone wants to go on with retaliation, but Liz has to speak to the president first because they have killed many of their sailors. Liz thinks that persecution would be pointless.
Liz calls President Li. He does not want to force Liz’s hand back. It seems that they can go to war. Liz wants to lead this through Congress, making them a united front. Russell thinks this is a bad idea, but of course he does it at her request. The news about this will come out at the dinner of Stevie and Dimitri. Secret service cuts their dinner short. Stevie is needed in the White House.
Liz is in the war room and is told by her team that it is in her interest to react quickly and quickly. Liz decides not to go to war but to try several other options. Stevie and Dimitri arrive to see Liz and Henry pop champagne because they don’t know that both parties have proposed. Stevie breaks and introduces Dimitri to her parents for the first time with a fortune cookie. Dimitri takes over and introduces Stevie. Just as he was kneeling with the ring Russell comes bumping in to get Liz. It’s gotten worse, her blockage doesn’t work.
Liz leaves surprised, Chen. Chen admits that it was a rogue commander who started all this, but the president doesn’t go back on the honour and the fact that Liz is a woman. Liz is willing to keep her ships further from the quarantine line, but not back. Hopefully the president will see this as the US blinking first, it will save him some pride and honor and there will be no war. Later, in the war room, Liz and the rest of her teamguard are back down both sides.
The next day, during the hearings about the accusation, Liz is accused of having set up this war to take away these hearings. Henry’s old friend, the congressman, explodes that he can’t handle this anymore. This is all a lot of fuss, he tells the whole quarterroom while defending Liz and making Canning angry.
The next day, Liz and Henry wake up with millions of demonstrators. They want Liz to stay in her position as president! Liz is overwhelmed by emotion.
