Mama June and Justin Stroud Celebrate One Year of Marriage

Reality star Mama June Shannon is celebrating a special milestone with her husband, Justin Stroud. The couple marked one year of marriage last Thursday, March 23. Mama June took to Instagram to share a heartfelt post about her husband and their journey together, despite facing opposition from others.

The Mama June: Road to Redemption star shared that they met almost two years ago, and despite people not wanting them to be together or thinking they wouldn’t make it, they have been through a lot together as friends and as a couple. Mama June also thanked her husband for being there for her and her girls, even when it’s been difficult.

The couple exchanged vows at a Georgia courthouse last March, and they recently had an intimate oceanfront ceremony in Panama City, Florida, in February. Mama June’s daughters, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson and Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird, Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon, and Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell attended the wedding, along with Mama June’s grandchildren.

Mama June’s past relationships have been surrounded by controversy. In 2014, she was linked to convicted sex offender Mark McDaniel, which led to the cancellation of her TLC series, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. Her daughter, Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell, also claimed that she was a victim of McDaniel’s when she was a child. Mama June was later arrested in 2019 on charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia while dating her boyfriend, Geno Doak. However, Mama June has since turned her life around and revealed in August 2020 that she was six months sober. Despite her past struggles, Mama June has found love and happiness with Justin Stroud and is looking forward to what the future holds for their relationship.

“This was the first time the family had all been together since 2014,” Mama June shared. “So it was really special to get married in a place where my family and I have had so many memories!”
