The world is always excited to see the children of a celebrity and likes to talk about what they do, how they do it and whether they will probably follow their parents’ footsteps. However, many stars prefer to keep their children away from the media as long as possible. They protect them from being spoiled by fame and help them live a normal life. Well, they come out on special occasions. Actor Matthew McConaughey was honored earlier this week at the Texas Medal of Arts Awards and decided to celebrate with his entire family. The actor brought his wife, his mother and his three children to the red carpet on Wednesday. The three little ones are all grown up! The Oscar winner certainly made the event a family moment. The whole family looked absolutely amazing. The three children are rarely seen with their famous parents at one of the events. The last time the children appeared was in 2016!
The actor of the Dallas Buyers Club was at the event that was held Wednesday with his entire family at the Long Center for the Performing Arts in Austin. His three small children – Levi, 10, Vida, 9 and Livingston, 6 – who rarely see the limelight, were present to give their support to the Oscar winner. Levi was seen with a beige checkered suit, while his sister Vida decided to keep things stylish by pulling out a light purple dress with black rivets. Meanwhile Levingston, the youngest of the party, stole the show in his three-piece black suit, complete with a bow.
The mother of Oscar winner Kay, 87, was also on hand, smiling for pictures with her son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren in a chic blue dress, with gold statement earrings, matching black tights and black flats. The honoree was dressed in a three-piece gray checkered suit with a matching gray tie on top of a plain white shirt. The Brazillian model Camila Alves, his wife, is stunned in a floral maxi dress on the floor. The family was there to celebrate the Oscar winner’s performance, but it seems more like Levi has stolen the night with his fashion choices.
As reported by E! News, the family generally opts to keep their children out of the limelight and protect them from the difficult and distorted world of celebrities for as long as they can. However, the three children are seen as rare appearances in star-studded events. The last time the children were seen in the spotlight was in 2016, during the Sing premiere. In 2014, the children were photographed together during another special event in their father’s life – his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, the report added. Then Levi was only two years old!
While McConaughey and Alves met in 2006, they tied the knot much more recently, in 2012, when Levi was almost 4 and Vida, 2. Alves was in the early stages of her pregnancy at Livingston. They all look like a big and happy family. The actor sometimes shares moments of the whole family on his social media pages. With pictures of the children who so rarely come out, it is easy for us to judge how different and mature they look every time. McConaughey and Alves, like most other star parents, prefer to have their children live a normal life while growing up. They even take care not to spoil them too much.
During the event, McConaughey shook hands with Governor Gregg Abbott, who went to his Twitter to express his congratulations to the acclaimed actor. He wrote: Today I awarded the Texas Medal of Arts to a number of talented Texans who excelled in their art, including this presentation to Matthew McConaughey. Congratulations to all honorees. As reported by KLTV, the honorees are chosen on the basis of the influence and ability of their work to shape the future of the arts in the state of Texas, says the Cultural Trust Executive Director of the state, Heidi Marquez Smith.
Matthew McConaughey was a student at Longview High School. He became an actor, director, producer and philanthropist. He has made a huge impact on the industry with his talent. Some of his most prized and moving performances have been seen in films such as Dallas Buyers Club, Interstellar, Dazed and Confused, and A Time to Kill. “Through his Just Keep Livin Foundation he enables high school students to provide them with the tools to lead an active life and make healthy choices for a better future”, according to the TMAA on her website.
The actor received his prize for a film. However, he was not the only one from East Texas to be honored that night. Former resident and fashion designer Longview, Brandon Maxwell received a prize for design. Stephen Harrigan, Elaine Molinar and Craig Dykers, Vidal M. Trevino School of Communication and Fine Arts, Mark Seliger, Trenton Doyle Hancock, Conspirare, Jennifer Holliday and Boz Scaggs complete the list of honorees
