Meghan King Edmonds (35) and Jim Edmonds (49) try to reconcile after a very public cheating scandal.
Jim Edmonds, a former MLB star, officially submitted papers to end the wedding on Friday, Us Weekly reports. The submission came one day after their fifth wedding anniversary after a blast battle with Meghan.
“Meghan and Jim have fought,” a source told the publication. “The newest fight started when he went to a recent hockey game and she started questioning him about who he went with.”
Allegedly she accused the former St. Louis Cardinals player of “having an affair” with their babysitter.
The distrust of Meghan is probably Jim who sent dedicated text messages and photos to a woman while the reality star was pregnant.
Just a few days before the submission, the Bravo star opened for The Daily Dish about rebuilding trust in her marriage.
“I think it is so difficult to rebuild from there after such a breach of trust, especially [with] so many distractions, such as the health problems of our son and two other small babies,” Meghan said. “So it is very difficult to focus on the two of us as a couple.”
Meghan and Jim share three children, Aspen, 2 and 1 year old twins Hart and Hayes. In July, Meghan revealed that Hart was diagnosed with “irreversible brain damage.”
Despite their family problems, Meghan hoped to save her marriage because she ultimately believes that “people can change.”
“I take no responsibility from him in any way – and if we were just dating, he’d be gone a long time,” she said. “But we have built a life together and there are so many lives that would be affected. I have now been hurt and our lives have been greatly affected, but if we were to break up just because of his indiscretion, there are also several other people who have been affected. So I owe it not only to myself and the commitment I made to my marriage to work on it, but I also owe it to my children.
