Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, had a hard time in the spotlight. The former actress has had an intense few years. Markle ended her career and time in the popular USA series Suits and moved from her surrogate house in Toronto, Canada to live in the UK. When she married Prince Harry in May 2018 and effectively became a member of the British royal family, she was put on the world stage and nothing has changed since then.
Since marrying Prince Harry, Markle has moved from London and Kensington Palace to gain more privacy in Windsor, where she lives on a vast estate. In May 2019, just a year after marrying the prince, she gave birth to Archie Harrison, the couple’s first child.
All this change would be a big thing for everyone, but Markle has also had to deal with malicious lies, bullying, racist comments, attacks and sexism from the British public and the press. All of this recently came to a head in the ITV documentary Harry and Meghan: An African Journey. Markle revealed that she was struggling in the spotlight under constant pressure and the media storm. Although some people claim that the duchess only wants sympathy – it appears that the duchess does not care if you like her.
Meghan Markle doesn’t want people to love her
Although the British royal family and many members of the royal staff were alarmed by the revealing documentary by Markle and Prince Harry, the Sussexes are not silenced. They are determined to continue to use their voice and platform to speak out against injustice against others and themselves. In a recent interview with The Telegraph, the duchess explained that she “does not want people to love her.” In fact, she is not bothered by formal titles. In a recent conversation with Luminary Bakery that trains underprivileged women and employs them, the duchess explained,
One of the things I’ve realized since I got here is that people have an expectation when I go somewhere, so I am, let’s just be very relaxed, keep everyone nice and cool, because at the end of the day ‘they are all only women. We all have a story to tell and I am honored to hear yours.

Having attended the 10th Annual One Young World opening ceremony on Tuesday, The Duchess of Sussex was joined today by The Duke of Sussex for a round table discussion on gender equity with OYW and Queen’s Commonwealth Trust young leaders. Over the last few days, these young leaders became @OneYoungWorld ambassadors with the intention to return to their communities and further existing initiatives to help change the world for the better. This year OYW partnered with the @Queens_Commonwealth_Trust, of which The Duke and Duchess are President and Vice-President respectively, to provide scholarships to young leaders driving positive social impact in the Commonwealth. This was the most exciting collaboration between two groups The Duchess is passionate about and has been working with for some time. This is the 1 thing Meghan Markle cares about
Although the British royal family loves their formalities and traditions – Markle only cares about one thing – respect. Long before the Duchess became a member of the royal family, she stood up for women’s rights and education. Now she had devoted her life to talking about gender equality, women’s rights and mental health awareness. This is what she wants people to discuss when they talk about her.
Are Meghan Markle and Prince Harry moving to the United States?
In Harry and Meghan: An African Journey, the duke and duchess hinted that they would leave royal life if things didn’t calm down. Now it seems that they consider the United States, the homeland of Markle, as a second basis. The duo and baby Archie are going to Los Angeles for a six-week sabbatical during the Thanksgiving holiday. An insider told People: “It is not possible for them [in the UK] to be that way. There is now more pressure. A shift is going on.”
We just want these two to find peace.
