There is no doubt that Meghan Markle has an enviable style. From its luxurious appearance to its most affordable pieces, the dedication of the Duchess of Sussex to fashion has been exhibited both in her own dress choices and in her charity work. The world has certainly noticed because Meghan Markle was the most powerful dresser of 2019.

According to a study by Lyst, a fashion search engine and global-style tracker, Meghan Markle topped the list of the most influential dressing rooms. The organization focused on sales, news coverage, searches and social media publications to compile its list of powerful sideboards (which also included Billie Eilish, Zendaya and Timothée Chalamet), and Markle ranked first.

The organization reports that, according to its statistics, searches for Markle’s style and how to copy it increased by 216% in 2019. However, the report not only focused on web searches and the coverage of the Duchess of Sussex’s style as a whole. Lyst also assessed the ways in which brands were affected when wearing their clothes. The Duchess’ Club Monaco dress from the South African royal tour caused a massive 570% increase in brand searches. Even Markle’s most affordable items saw a peak. Her J. Crew skirt that was put on a breakfast meeting in Cape Town marked a 102% increase in the search for the classic brand.

While Lyst’s look on Markle’s overall impact demonstrates that the Markle effect is, in fact, real, Duchess fans just have to try to buy their looks to discover how powerful their opinions of style are.

Last month, Meghan Markle used a burgundy monochrome set for a round table on gender equality for the One Young World Summit in London. The look marked the second time the Duchess wore her leather Hugo Boss pencil skirt, but it was her Joseph sweater that flew off the shelf, which resulted in a total sale despite its $ 200 price.

Sales did not start in 2019 even though she only exceeded Lyst’s summary this year. The Duchess of Sussex has been indirectly pushing the cache of the brands since she and Prince Harry began dating. Clearly, the world’s interest in Markle’s style isn’t slowing down, and with 2020 just around the corner, there are even more Duchess-style moments on the way.
