As anyone who has seen the movie My 600-lb Life can attest, weight loss for those suffering from morbid obesity depends largely on attitude. Many of the people who get on the show just want an easy fix, without reducing their diet or exercise.
Many controversial people have ended up on reality shows over the years, such as James King, who hindered the lives of everyone close to him and even had his girlfriend bring him unhealthy food when he was hospitalized. As with any addiction, it’s up to the individual to want to change, and those around them to support that decision.
Luckily, Season 7 subject Brandon Scott had the perfect attitude to change his life for the better. His weight initially ballooned to 718 pounds, but 12 months later he had dropped to 383 pounds, a huge achievement.
Even Dr. Now seemed to be impressed by the progress he was able to make in such a short time. A big part of that seemed to be his girlfriend Taylor, featured in the episode, who was on the same diet as him and ate what he ate. It was a great start to a new chapter in both of their lives and he has continued his weight loss mission in the years since.
