Viewers of the TLC My 600-lb Life docu-series almost always cheer for the successes of patients trying to change their lives and heal with the assistance of Dr. Now. Few patients have been as memorable as Charity Pierce, who went through enormous difficulties during her time on the show.
From dealing with her mother’s death, to finding out her boyfriend was cheating on her with her sister, to dealing with the guilt that her daughter was following in the footsteps of weight gain, Charity faced numerous obstacles during her first appearance on the show.
Where’s Charity from My 600-lb Life now? She appeared in the spinoff of the show Where Are They Now, and is still active in her weight loss journey.
My 600-lb Life: Where İs Charity From My 600-lb Life Now?
In Where Are They Now, cameras captured Charity and Charly while they were still living in Houston, Texas. The charity had, in total, lost 513 pounds, and weighed 265 pounds.
For her part, Charly had lost 95 pounds, and she weighed 295 pounds. She and Charly decided they would return to Iowa once they achieved their weight loss goals, but they still wanted Dr. Now to approve them for skin removal surgery. But he wouldn’t do that until they weighed less than 200 pounds each.
But her relationship with Charly soon deteriorated and Charity developed a drinking problem. Charly walked away from the situation and went back to Iowa because she was afraid that her mother’s setbacks would affect her weight loss journey.
Since its appearance on Where Are They Now, Charity has had some further setbacks in health. In a Facebook post on March 2020, she said she was diagnosed with kidney cancer the previous December.
“To update everyone… I found out at Christmas I had kidney cancer. It devastated me because my mother died of brain cancer. So since Christmas I’ve had a lot of anxiety and panic attacks. After many tests and a million doctor’s appointments they realized that the cancer was only in my kidney,” she wrote in her post.
“The next step was to have my kidney removed as soon as possible before it had a chance to spread to other organs in my body. So, on March 2nd, my kidney was removed. And now I’m recovering at home trying to heal,” he continued. “I just hope the future holds something good.”
In her most recent Facebook updates, Charity has posted photos of her continuous weight loss. Although she has not explicitly said what her current weight is, it is clear that she is keeping her promise to leave the past behind.
