Many of the episodes of My 600-Lb Life end on a positive note. The person at the centre of the episode manages to lose a significant amount of weight and undergoes gastric bypass surgery to further help achieve his weight loss goals.
Unfortunately, not everyone at Dr. Now gets the help they need, and season 7’s Jeanne Covey proves this. She certainly had one of the most heartbreaking episodes shown on the reality series. Her backstory revealed abuse and how she started eating at a very young age. By the time she was 40, she weighed over 700 kilos and was still living with her parents, becoming totally dependent on them.
It seemed that she really wanted to make a change in her life to be healthier, but after meeting Dr. Now for the first time, it was one setback after another. Not only did her mother experience health problems, but her father died in his sleep, during a film shoot while she and her mother were in hospital.
Jeanne had to end her treatment with Dr. Now because she was simply not in a place in her life to continue. Her episode ends with her losing only about 23 pounds, with no way of knowing how she has fared in that time.
Fortunately, it seems that she managed to lose quite a significant amount of weight independently and privately.
My 600-lb Life: Where Is Jeanne Covey, The Star Of ‘My 600-lb Life,’ Now
It would be natural for viewers of My 600-Lb Life to worry about Jeanne Covey after the end of her episode. It really did seem that she was not in a good mental state, but fortunately she seems to have managed her weight on her own.
Throughout her episode, Dr Now chides her for not caring enough to lose the weight needed for surgery, but she is convinced she can do it. She later proved she could do just that, as her Facebook page shows, where she has documented her weight loss progress. In August 2020, she posted a comment on the page saying she had lost 388 kilos, a huge achievement by any standards.
While it’s great to see her doing so well in life, she hasn’t forgotten her time on My 600-Lb Life. In fact, he joined several other former actors who sued Megalomedia, the production company behind the series, over alleged problems during filming.
Each has different reasons for suing, but in Jeanne Covey’s case, he claims that Megalomedia forced him to continue filming even after his father’s death.
In addition, she also alleges in the lawsuit that the production company promised to pay for her mother’s medical expenses but never offered any compensation.
