Buckingham Palace has officially announced the name of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s newborn son: Archie Harrison.
“The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh met the newborn son of The Duke & Duchess of Sussex at Windsor Castle. Mrs. Doria Ragland was also present. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are delighted to announce that they have their son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, “the palace wrote in a statement.
The announcement was accompanied by a new portrait of the royal couple and their son with Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip and Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland. It was taken at Windsor Castle.
No title with the name has been announced. It is thought he will have none – a previous report from The Times of London said that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle thought not to give it to their child. Princess Anne also decided not to give her descendants royal titles.
Earlier today, the royal couple gave the world a first look at their son. “It’s magic, it’s pretty amazing. I have the two best guys in the world, so I’m very happy,” Meghan Markle told reporters. “He has the sweetest temperament, he is really calm. He has just been the dream,” Markle told reporters. She was wearing a dress by the English designer Grace Wales Bonner.
The family of three will return to their home at Frogmore Cottage, on the grounds of Windsor Castle.
“Parenting is great. It’s only been two and a half days, three days, but we’re just so excited to have our own little bundle of joy.” Prince Harry added.
