The Real Housewives of Potomac is back for its sixth season, introducing a new cast member, Mia Thornton. The trailer highlighted Wendy Osefo’s marital problems and portrayed a mother of three and an entrepreneur who is already at odds with some women, namely Candiace Dillard.
After the departure of franchise owner, area developer and health and beauty shop founder Monique Samuels, Mia Thornton joined the cast of Real Housewives of Potomac.
Married to Gordon Thornton for nine years, the couple have welcomed three children into the world: Joshua, Jeremiah and Juliana.
After graduating from Southeastern Institute with a degree in Neuromuscular Massage Therapy, she developed several Joint Chiropractic Doctor offices in Washington, D.C. and several other states, including Maryland, New York, North Carolina and Virginia. In addition, Mia Thornton is involved in philanthropy, as he and his wife sponsor several organizations, including Ronald McDonald House and Autism Speaks.
Seemingly introduced to the ladies through Karen Huger, the Grand Dame described the newest actress as a “boss” and a “breath of fresh air.” At one point, the franchise owner opens up about her childhood in foster care, describing her experience of being taken from her home at a young age. Mia Thornton also talks about her mother, who explained that she made decisions that she felt served her daughter’s best interests.
RHOP: Candiace And Mia Thornton Butt Heads In Season 6
Although the newest cast member seems to get along well with the other women at first, the season 6 trailer revealed that she and Robyn Dixon and Candiace Dillard don’t get along at one point. At another point, the ladies, except for the wild-eyed bandits Gizelle Bryant and Dixon, gathered around a table. Although it’s not known what provoked the disagreement, Thornton threw food at Dillard, which resulted in the singer responding with fire from a nearby salad.
Wendy Osefo, caught in the middle again, tried to stop the quarrel from escalating before security guards escorted the ladies out.
