Russell Wilson, Ciara & Macklemore Join Seattle Sounds Ownership Group

Russell Wilson and Ciara arrive at the ESPY Awards on July 10, 2019, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

The Seattle Sounders add Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and his R&B star wife Ciara, hip hop artist Macklemore and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella to the MLS club ownership group.

Other investors also come on board, while the current majority shareholder Adrian Hanauer increases his investment interest in the club. Hollywood producer Joe Roth, who helped bring the MLS to Seattle, leaves the franchise.

Wilson has tried to get possession of sports. He was previously a partner in an attempt to build a new basketball arena in Seattle and was also part of the Portland, Oregon project to build a baseball stadium hoping to lure an MLB team into town.
