Meri Brown’s marriage to Kody Brown has been problematic for a long time. In fact, the marriage is so problematic that many fans have wondered if the LuLaRoe entrepreneur is only dating the family’s reality show. While the family program, Sister Wives, will return to TLC in January, the next teasers are doing very little to calm concerns about the couple’s crumbling marriage. Meri’s recent activity on Instagram is also not instilling much confidence. Could one’s mother be preparing fans for a solo trip? It certainly seems possible.
Meri and Kody are allegedly returning to therapy
Meri and Kody’s marriage counseling sessions will apparently be the main story in the next season of the show, says The Ashley’s Reality Roundup. The couple has attended counseling before. Supposedly, it’s something Kody insists on for his four wives, but Meri and Kody are the couple with the most luggage between them.
It would seem that Kody is still having difficulty accepting the idea that his first wife went to seek affection outside their marriage years ago. Meri, on the other hand, apparently still harbors resentment over the fact that Kody divorced her to marry wife number four. At that time, it was said that Kody’s legal marriage to Robyn was only logistic. He legally married her to be able to adopt her children from a previous marriage. However, as the years went by, it seems that Robyn is the obvious favorite wife, and the other three have not taken him particularly well. However, it seems that Meri has taken the worst.
The advice, however, still does not seem to help this couple. Some fans have theorized that this could be a way to slowly introduce fans to the idea that Meri will embark on a solo adventure. While divorce is frowned upon within the polygamous sect of the family, the Becoming Sister Wives family book points out that it is not so rare for a wife to live completely separated from the rest of the family.
Is Meri’s social media feed giving her away?
While fans are sure that Meri is ready to run away from the family, TLC advances don’t seem to be the only reason they think it’s about to happen. Meri’s social media feed has been active while the program is paused, but has not been busy with her family. Much of his Instagram feed has been devoted to his recent trips, but the rest of his family is suspiciously absent from his trips.

Every time I drive between Flagstaff and Salt Lake I'm super grateful I can split up the trip and stay here at Mom's aka @lizzies_heritage_inn And now, on my way home to ship out a bunch of gifts that I got this weekend at the Christmas show! 🎄🎄🎄 #LivingMyWhy #BecauseICan #LoveWhatIDo #LuLaRoeRetailer #SocialRetailer #LuLaRoeForLife #ThanksItsLuLaRoe #LuLaRoeMoreThanJustLeggings #ComeWorkWithMe #LifeIsAnAdventure #LuLaRoeAmber #LizziesHeritageInn #SaltLakeFamilyChristmasGiftShow
Meri has been in Cozumel, Texas, Georgia and Nevada for the past month. He has also spent a lot of time in Utah at the inn he owns as a lonely company and seems to be visiting his daughter, Mariah, in Chicago regularly. His travels are leading some fans to believe that he is exploring the possibilities of living elsewhere. In fact, it seems that Flagstaff is the last place where Meri wants to spend her time.
The family’s move last summer did little to make Meri feel welcome
Kody is known for making rash decisions, it seems. The family patriarch forced his family to leave Utah in the first season of the show. Apparently, the measure was for legal reasons. The family said they were being investigated in the state and had no choice but to move. Once they settled and the children prospered in their new home, he decided to uproot everyone again.
This time, Kody took his family from his den in Nevada and left them in Flagstaff. The decision was not unanimous. While Janelle cared for her son, Gabriel, Meri seemed to mourn the idea of leaving a home she really loved. It doesn’t seem like the family is joking with the locals either, and that kind of alienation doesn’t seem right with Meri.
Because Meri is considered the stranger within her own family, her inability to forge connections in Flagstaff seems to be making her feel lonely. Instead of connecting in their own community, one’s mother seems to be returning to more familiar landscapes and, frankly, fans are delighted with her. Is this the season in which you will finally get away from the Brown family and go alone? There is still nothing certain, but the family will return in 2020 to tie up the loose ends that remained after the revealing episode of season 13.
