Sister Wives star Meri Brown has temporarily closed her beloved Utah bed and breakfast, Lizzie’s Heritage Inn, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Meri Brown, revealed the news on her Instagram on Saturday, as the announcement comes amid financial problems for her family.
Sister Wives: Meri Brown Is Closing To Limit The Spread Of Covıd-19
Kody Brown’s first wife titled a photo of her Lizzie’s Heritage Inn: “In recent weeks and months, during the current pandemic, I have been keeping an eye on Utah’s guidelines for travel recommendations and possible restrictions on closures in the hospitality industry.
“Right now, while things seem to be loosening up a bit, I’ve been giving some serious thought to how to proceed with the B&B. In the interest and safety of my staff, especially my sweet mother, who welcomes all our guests with such courtesy and love every day, and the local community in southern Utah, we will not accept any reservations until further notice. We are also not conducting any tours at this time.
Meri Brown continued that it is “her part” to “limit the potential spread of COVID-19”. She closed the post with: “I cannot, in good conscience, continue to keep the inn open at this time. As a small family run inn, I appreciate all your continued kindness and support. Thank you for your patience in these unprecedented times. The inn and the staff miss the guests who keep our home alive and we look forward to being able to live together again safely.

Over the past weeks and months during the current pandemic, I've kept a close eye on Utah guidelines for travel recommendations and possible restrictions for closures in the hospitality industry. At this time as things seem to be loosening up a bit, I've been putting some deep thought into how to move forward with the B&B. In the interest and safety of my staff, in particular my sweet mom who so graciously and lovingly welcomes all our guests on a daily basis, as well as the local southern Utah community, we will not be accepting any bookings until further notice. We are also not conducting ANY tours at this time. I feel it a duty to do my part in limiting the potential spread of COVID-19 and I can't, in good conscience, continue to keep the inn open at this time. As a small, family-run inn, I appeciate all your continued kindness and support. Thank you for your patience during these unprecedented times. The inn and staff miss the guests that keep our home so lively and we look forward to when we can all commune safely together again. @lizzies_heritage_inn 💙💙💙 #LivingMyWhy #BecauseICan #LoveWhatIDo #LoveWhoIAm #LizziesHeritageInn #BedAndBreakfast #Family
Meri then explained in the comments section that the inn was only open for essential travelers, and that she noted that “people do not take precautions when traveling”. She added: “Now that travel is starting to become more frequent, I choose to protect my family and my staff. Meri Brown opened Lizzie’s Heritage Inn in 2017.
The bed and breakfast is named after Meri’s grandmother, Lizzie, who lived in the historic house.
Meri’s mother helps run the bed and breakfast as she lives in Arizona with Kody Brown, with whom she shares a daughter, and three other sister wives.
Last season on Sister Wives, Meri asked the family for a $40,000 loan for the house, while she agreed to pay the remaining $40,000 for the down payment.
While second wife Janelle Brown, third wife Christine Brown, and fourth wife Robyn Brown, were in favor of the idea, Kody Brown, had her own reserves, because bed and breakfasts are not “big moneymakers. He asked: “Why are we going to be investors in that business, we are going to be the board of directors of that company and we can tell you how to run it? Meri returned fire: “No, not at all.”
She added in the confessional, “This is my baby. They don’t care about the house or the bed and breakfast. I want to run my business my way.”
Kody Brown then informed her that he didn’t have the $40,000 to lend her. Meri managed to make her own money through her LuLaRoe clothing business. The inn looks lucrative, since Lizzie’s Heritage Inn was named Best County Inn in Utah two years in a row and has five stars on TripAdvisor.
