The couple, who share their son Axel James, announced in a statement to PEOPLE that they “are both extremely excited” to welcome a girl into their family later this year.
“I just had it in my head that it would be a boy,” Caleb told the exhaust, adding that he was so surprised by the news that he expected a little girl to do the ultrasound tech check three times. I am very excited and nervous about having a little girl. “
The couple made the exciting announcement to the rest of their family, all based in Flagstaff, Arizona, through a small gender-revealing party that is being held via Skype from their home in North Carolina. Family members from other parts of the country also responded to the big unveiling, with the couple opening poppers bursting into pink confetti.
“I went back and forth so many times,” Bush said about what she thought was the sex of her little one, adding that she “had no idea” in both directions until the time of the unveiling. “However, I am very excited.”
“Caleb’s family was really surprised and very excited,” she added. “[My family] was a 50/50 division of people who guessed girls and people who guessed boys.”
“My mother was so excited and startled that she tore a bit. Something about a girl, I think,” she said.
As for Axel, who welcomed the couple in May 2017, “he doesn’t really understand yet, so we’re sure he’ll be happy to have someone to play with.”
Bush and Caleb had announced that they were expecting their second child together in January, announcing the news to the fans by sharing a photo of her growing baby bump on social media.
“This is what moving during pregnancy looks like. We are so excited for all the new adventures! We are completely blessed,” she writes about the photo.
If we speak to us weekly, the couple couldn’t grasp their enthusiasm.
“I’m very excited,” said Bush, the daughter of Sister Wives stars Kody Brown and Jenelle Brown. “This pregnancy feels less real for some reason, but I’m still completely in the clouds and can’t wait for Axel to meet his baby brother!”
Bush and Caleb married in June 2016 in Bozeman, Montana with her father as an officer.
