A few months ago, Jenelle Evans was in the public seat again after her husband, David Eason, allegedly shot and killed their family dog named Nugget.
What Eason did was not only sad, but it caused MTV to fire her hit MTV show Teen Mom 2 (Eason was fired from the show last year when he went on social media and posted a whole series of homophobic rations).
Not only did Jenelle Evans lose her job because of Eason, but the cruel stunt that her husband drew also caused them to lose both their children.
How many kids do Jenelle Evans and David Eason have?
Eason and Evans have five children between them. They both have two children from previous relationships and they share a two-year-old daughter named Ensley.
At the time of the incident, three of their five children lived with them, including Eason’s daughter Maryssa, the 5-year-old son Kaiser van Evans and their daughter Ensley.
All children were immediately removed from the house so that the police could investigate.
Now that the family dog has passed away a few months ago, many people wonder if Jenelle Evans could ever regain custody of her children, and if not, will she ever be able to get all her children under one roof again? Here is everything we know so far about Jenelle Evans custody case.
Did Jenelle Evans regain custody of her kids?
Since the time their children left home, Eason and Evans regularly attended hearings in May to be appointed by the court to try to regain custody of their children. Then, on July 3, the judge was assigned to their case, decided to dismiss the case, and had the children returned to the home of Eason and Evans.
After the hearing was over, Jenelle Evans reportedly said: “[the judge] found no evidence against us of neglect or abuse of any kind.” She also added: “With everything that was presented as evidence, the judge found that CPS had only ‘heard it said’.”
Before the hearing, Jenelle Evans had shot her original story about Eason on the dog and said instead that she had never witnessed Nugget shooting, and she wasn’t sure he had actually killed the dog. The police have never been able to find the dog’s body to confirm whether it has actually been shot.
After the judge dismissed the case, Eason’s daughter Maryssa, Evans’ son Kaiser and their daughter Ensley all returned home.
Jenelle Evans still has one more custody battle to fight
One of Evans’ children did not return to her house on July 3 and that was her eldest son Jace. In 2011, Evans transferred custody of her son to her mother, Barbara Evans. In recent years, Jenelle has tried to regain custody of her son, but until now she has only been visited by Jase.
After the trial in July, Evans informed her fans that Jase would stay with her mother, but she and her son could now resume their “normal schedule”, meaning that Jase would stay with Evans the school year every weekend and he would stay two weeks with her when he doesn’t go to school.
Evans told her fans that she plans to regain custody of her son one day, but for now she is working on building a strong relationship with her oldest son.
It is unclear when and if Evans will ever be able to regain full custody of her son, but it has also been reported that she and Eason have started taking parenting lessons to teach them how to be better parents for all their children.
