“I truly have put my whole heart and soul into this and there’s no doubt in my mind now that I feel like you are the perfect guy for me.”

For the first time since they met on the red carpet, Angie said to Carlin, “I’m falling in love with you.”

A pleasantly surprised Carlin returned the feeling and said to Angie: “I’m falling in love with you too.”

The beloved couple said daily until 10 after the final that the whole ride had been surreal.

“I couldn’t summarize the experience in one word,” Carlin said, “I learned so much about myself but also about Angie. It was emotionally exhausting, but I got the best scenario out of it and that’s what I love “

At those last moments, on the way to Angie for the last time that Carlin admitted that he was “so nervous.”

“When I saw that Timm and I are totally different characters, it was one of those things that really threw me away. I didn’t know which way Angie would go, but I just trusted what we had built,” he said.

“It was all based on hope. In the hope that she would eventually choose me, in the hope that she would see that together we could have such a good, exciting future.”

It had been intense for Angie to have to relive the whole experience by watching the show.

“It’s hard to look back,” she said, “when you film it you’re so in the ‘now’, you don’t think about how it will be an episode, you don’t think about how the audience will perceive it .

“I have to see myself connecting with all those other people when I already chose the person I want to be with … it’s a bit of a thought f — to be honest.”

The pair has been living in secret since the end of the show, telling 10 daily that they were enormously excited to finally have the chance to just eat in public.

“Every time we are together it is private. To be able to have breakfast, lunch or dinner. Oh my god, it will be so unreal, I am so excited,” Angie said.

For a season full of surprises, Angie said she was very happy that she had conquered the “first rose curse” of the Bachelorette.

“Do you know the curse?” she said referring to the trend that in all seasons of ‘The Bachelorette’ except for Sam Frost, the bachelor who received the first rose would not win. Even the gold ticket from Matt Agnew went to Elly Miles instead of his number one pick Chelsie McLeod.

“Something in me was so stubborn,” Angie said.

“I was like ‘Nup. This is what I want to do’ and I stayed with my stomach and he broke the first rose curse. So they no longer exist!”

While Angie encouraged the end of the curse, Carlin shouted in the background: “What a whaaaat!”
