It is that dark time of the year where there are no bachelor shows. Colton Underwood’s season was already coming to an end and we have a few more weeks to go before we can follow Hannah Brown‘s journey to find eternal love. While this time of year may be bleak for most of the Bachelor Nation, it’s a good time to get to know our next lead, Brown.
We learned a little about Brown during Underwood’s season, but the former beauty queen had trouble dropping her guard in front of him, making it hard to get a feel for who she really is. So who is Brown and what was she doing before The Bachelor?
What was Hannah Brown’s job?
The women from the Underwood season came from a number of professional backgrounds. Before coming to the show, Brown worked as an interior designer at a company called Gracefully Done. She worked there just over a year before moving to the Bachelor’s house to capture Underwood‘s heart.
Although she was only there for a short time, she loved her job.
“I love to realize my clients’ dream homes,” she told Tuscaloosa in 2018.
Where did Hannah Brown go to school?
As everyone who has heard Brown speak for a second, Brown knows, went to the University of Alabama. She graduated magna cum laude from the school in 2017 with a degree in communication. While she was there, she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega student association.
Brown’s pageant life
Brown starts a parade from the age of fifteen. She initially started participating in pageants to get scholarships, but later fell in love with it.
“My family has seen me grow considerably due to the fact that they played along,” she told Yellowhammer News last year. “It has really strengthened me as a person. I have really been able to talk to everyone from all aspects of life.”
Although she feels she has grown from parades, Brown’s life has not always been easy. When she first entered the Miss Alabama circuit, she was not in the top 15 four years in a row.
“It was a little daunting,” she said about the time. “People always have an opinion about what you do, what you say, how you walk, how you dress. I took the wrong view of what a show should be – I thought my self-worth was through recognition.”
The constant judgment eventually led Brown to struggle with depression.
“At that moment it is so hard to see joy in life,” she recalled. “I can remember times when I didn’t want to get up.”
Since then she has started a school program in which she shares her story to help others struggling with their mental health.
“It is not always a walk in the park to be a person on this earth,” continued Brown. “We all have problems. Saying that every day is easy isn’t it … But being able to talk about it and be honest about it is the best way to solve this problem.”
